CMU Rolls to 'International' Win

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Adam Collins had three hits including a home run Friday as the Central Michigan baseball team defeated the Ontario Blue Jays, 25-10, in the Chippewas' International Game at Theunissen Stadium.
The Blue Jays are a travel team based near Toronto comprising some of the best high-school aged players in Canada.
Freshman Dazon Cole had three hits including a double and two RBI from the leadoff spot in his first appearance in a CMU uniform. Another freshman making his Chippewa debut, Daniel Robinson, had two hits.
Also for the Chippewas, Zach McKinstry and Daniel Jipping had three hits apiece; Alex Borglin singled, doubled and drove in four runs; and Zack Fields had two hits and drove in three runs.
Grant Wolfram, a freshman from Hamilton and a Detroit Tigers draftee, made the start for the Chippewas and struck out two over two innings.
Connor Kelly, Brady Williams, Michael Brettell and Sean Renzi also took a turn on the mound for CMU.
The Chippewas' annual Fall World Series begins on Friday, Oct. 9.
