EVANSTON, Ill. - The Central Michigan field hockey team fell to Ninth-ranked Northwestern, 7-0, on Saturday.
The Chippewas (0-5) play Drexel (0-5) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Northwestern's Lakeside Field. Saturday's win for the Wildcats (5-2) was their fourth straight.
"Northwestern's very well coached, a very good team," CMU coach Molly Pelowski said. "We were able to work a lot of people into lineup at different positions, which is good going forward, looking ahead to the MAC."
Northwestern outshot the Chippewas, 25-0, including an 18-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Wildcats also held a 5-2 edge in penalty corners.
CMU goalkeeper Sadie Lynn Reynolds made 10 saves.
"Bottom line is we have to get better at our technical execution and our tactical execution," Pelowski said. "We'll take an opportunity to rest up tonight and the good thing is we'll turn right around and play tomorrow with Drexel, which I think will be a good matchup for us."
