CMU Softball Continues Fall Ball

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan softball team will continue its fall schedule this weekend when they head north to Traverse City for four games over a two-day span on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, at West High School.
The Chippewas, who finished 27-23, in 2015, will take on Western Michigan, Michigan and Oakland. CMU will play at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each day.
CMU will play its fall finale, and its only fall home date, on Sept. 30, when it welcomes Northwood for a doubleheader at Margo Jonker Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.
The Chippewas open the 2016 season with a trip to Macon, Ga., on Feb. 12-14, to play in the Mercer Invitational. CMU follows with a Feb. 19-21 trip to Palm Springs, Calif., for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic; and ends its late-winter schedule at the University of South Florida in Clearwater, Fla., for the Under Armour Invitational from March 4-13.
The Chippewas' home opener is scheduled for March 22 against Valparaiso. CMU's Mid-American Conference-opening weekend is March 25-26 at Kent State.
The Chippewas' MAC home-opening weekend is scheduled for April 1-2 against Akron.
