It's all about waiting your turn and taking advantage when the opportunity presents itself.
Central Michigan product Thomas Rawls did exactly that on Sunday, leading the Seattle Seahawks to their first victory of the season, 26-0, over the Chicago Bears.
Seattle starting running back Marshawn Lynch left the game with a hamstring injury after just five carries, and Rawls stepped up, rushing for 104 yards on 16 carries in just his third NFL game.
Ninety-eight of Rawls' yards came in the second half, and among his 16 touches were runs covering 21, 18 and 17 yards.
• Antonio Brown finished with 11 catches for 108 yards in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 12-6 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
It was the seventh time in his last eight games that Brown has surpassed the 100-yard mark and he extended his NFL-record streak to 36 games of making at least five catches and gaining at least 50 yards.
• New York Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins one tackle and one assist in a 32-21 win over the Washington Redskins on Thursday.
• San Francisco 49ers linebacker Nick Bellore was credited with one tackle in the 49ers' 47-7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Offensive tackle Joe Staley, a nine-year veteran, made his 117th straight start for the 49ers.
