
Winter Work: Camp Schedule Set

The schedule has been set for Central Michigan Baseball’s four annual winter camps, three of which are slated for the on-campus state-of-the-art Indoor Athletic Complex.
First on the docket is the Day With The Pros Camp, scheduled for Dec. 17; followed by the 12th Annual Central Michigan Baseball Showcase, presented by Diamonds Sports Training in Wyoming on Jan. 21; next comes the Complete Comprehensive Chippewa Camp (C4), slated for Jan. 28; the final camp is the Chippewa Youth All-Skills Camp on Jan. 29.
Day with the Pros
Day with the Pros, open to high school players, is led by the Central Michigan coaching staff and former CMU players who have gone on to play professionally. Campers are provided a unique opportunity to showcase their talents and to receive professional instruction. Campers will be tested in the 60-yard dash, home-to-first, arm strength, and bat speed/exit velocity.
The schedule and cost: Pitching and catching, 10 a.m.-1:15 p.m., $90; holiday combo, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., $170; hitting and advanced skill, 1:45-5 p.m., $90.
Complete Comprehensive Chippewa Camp (C4)
The C4 camp, for players in eighth-12th grade, provides campers the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of the Central Michigan coaching staff as well as to fine tune ahead of the 2017 season. The camp includes detailed pitching, hitting, catching and fielding instructions. It is open to anyone grades 8-12. The camp runs from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cost is $150.
Chippewa Youth All-Skills Camp
The camp is open to those in third-seventh grade and provides an opportunity for campers to prepare for the 2017 season. The CMU coaching staff will provide detailed instruction on all facets of the game, including, hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and base running. The camp runs from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Cost is $75.
12th Annual Central Michigan Baseball Showcase, Presented by Diamonds Sports Training
The camp, for players age 7-18, is scheduled for Diamonds Sports Training in Wyoming, just outside Grand Rapids. The CMU coaching staff will provide detailed instruction on all facets of the game, including, hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and base running.
The schedule: Session 1, pitching and catching, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., ages 13-18; Session 2, hitting and fielding, 1:30-3:30 p.m., agaes 13-18; Session 3, all-around skills camp, 3:45-5:15 p.m., ages 7-12.
