CMU's Amadio Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan goalkeeper Lily Amadio was named the Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
Amadio, a sophomore from Shavertown, Pa., made 15 saves in the Chippewas' two games last weekend on their season-opening trip to Vermont.
CMU dropped its season opener to Vermont, 2-1, then fell to La Salle, 2-0. Amadio made seven saves against the Catamounts, and eight against the Explorers. She logged 140 minutes in the two games.
The Chippewas return to action Thursday (6 p.m.) with a non-league game at Michigan State, then play host to Quinnipiac in a non-leaguer on Saturday (3 p.m.).
