
Field Hockey Falls To No. 8 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Central Michigan field hockey team dropped its third consecutive game on Sunday, falling to eigthth-ranked Michigan, 10-0, at the Wolverines' Ocker Field.
The Wolverines scored eight second-half goals and outshot the Chippewas, 35-2, in the game. It was Michigan's fifth consecutive victory as it improved to 6-1. The Chippewas are 1-6.
CMU will begin Mid-American Conference play on Friday, Sept. 23 (noon), against Miami (Ohio) at the Central Michigan Field Hockey Complex.
"Playing Michigan heading into MAC play has quite a few benefits," CMU coach Molly Pelowski said. "I think playing a challenging opponent, a physical opponent, is really good preperation."
CMU goalkeeper Abigail Ebersole made 11 saves against the Wolverines.
The Redhawks are coming off a 3-0 loss No. 2-ranked Duke (8-0).
The Chippewas will look to get their offense going as they've been held to six combined shots in the past two games.
Central has another Big Ten matchup at home against Indiana (4-4) on Sunday, Sept. 25 (noon).
