Chippewas Runners Earn MAC Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan cross country runners Paula Merino and Alec Omell have been named the Runner of the Week by the Mid-American Conference.
Merino, a freshman from Laz Rozas, Madrid, Spain led the Chippewas at the Oakland Dual Meet, while Omell led the CMU men in the same event.
Merino finished the women's 3K race in 11 minutes, 27 seconds. Omell, a senior from Romeo, finished the men's 4K in 12:39.
The Chippewas are scheduled to partake in the Pre-National Invitational on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
