SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan field hockey team will host Mid-American Conference newcomer Appalachian State in a pair of games, the first on Saturday, the second on Sunday. Both begin at noon. Saturday's game counts in the MAC standings, Sunday's does not.
LAST WEEK
The Chippewas (0-11, 0-2 MAC) dropped a 2-0 nonconference decision to Louisville, which was ranked 15th in the nation at the time. CMU goalkeeper Lily Amadio logged 15 saves in the game. The Chippewas also dropped a 2-0 decision to Ohio in a MAC game last weekend.
LEADERS
• Jasmine Banks leads CMU in points with four (one goal, two assists). Carly Bengosz has 16 shots to lead the Chippewas.
• Amadio has 86 total saves on the season.
SCOUTING
• Appalachian State is 4-8, 1-3 MAC after dropping an 8-2 decision to No. 15 Wake Forest on Wednesday.
• Taylor Cimbalist holds the lead for the Mountaineers in points with 19 (eight goals, three assists) and shots with 23.

Central Michigan is scheduled to host Michigan State (6-6, 1-2 Big Ten) in a nonconference game on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the CMU Field Hockey Complex.
