Warren Named MAC West Pitcher Of The Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Hanna Warren was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week.

Warren, a junior right-hander from Canton, went 2-0 with a 0.58 earned run average last week. She struck out five in tossing a two-hitter in a 6-0 nonconference win at Valparaiso, then allowed four hits in a 9-1 five-inning MAC win over Northern Illinois.

The shutout at Valpo was Warren's first of the season.

The Chippewas are 30-13, 13-5 MAC. They share first place overall and in the MAC West with Ball State, which is also 13-5 in MAC play. The Cardinals and Chippewas open a three-game series on Friday (3 p.m.) at Margo Jonker Stadium.
