Cole Named MAC West Pitcher of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Dazon Cole was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week.
Cole, a sophomore right-hander from Pontiac, did not allow a run in two appearances last week, both of them starts. He went a 10 combined innings in a 4-3 win over No. 16 Michigan, and threw seven innings in a 15-0 victory at Toledo as the Chippewas notched their first shutout of the season and clinched a share of the MAC West title.
The lone blemish on his ledger against the Wolverines was a walk over three innings. He surrendered six hits, walked two and struck out three against Toledo, earning his third win of the season.
The Chippewas play host to Michigan State in a nonconference game on Tuesday and open a three-game MAC series against Ball State on Thursday at Theunissen Stadium.
