
Eight CMU Softball Players Earn Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Eight Central Michigan student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference softball team.
To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must carry a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50 percent of her team's games. First-year students and transfers in their first year are not eligible.
The Chippewas named to the squad, with year, grade point average, and major: Allison Curtis, sophomore, 3.46, mathematics; Kaila Fulker, redshirt freshman, 3.25, biology/biomedical sciences; Maison Kalina, junior, 3.61, early child development; Taylor Lewallen, senior, 3.58, dietetics; Evelyn Lorimer, senior, 4.00, master's in public administration; Kayla Noch, sophomore, 3.82, marketing; Erika Underwood, sophomore, 3.38, sport management; Rachel Vieira, sophomore, 3.77, biology/biomedical sciences.
Kalina and Lewallen were named to the squad for the second consecutive season. Lorimer earned the honor in 2014.
