Field Hockey Falls To American

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Despite a 14-save effort from goalkeeper Lily Amadio, the Central Michigan field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to No. 21 American at Michigan State's Ralph Young Field on Sunday.
The Chippewas (0-4) will look to collect their first win as they travel to Indiana on Friday (3 p.m.). The Hoosiers are 1-2. CMU will have its home opener on Sunday (noon) against Saint Louis (2-2).
Carlotta Borcherding put the first goal on the board for the Eagles at the 16:57 mark in the first half. Noor Coenen added another for American just over a minute later with an assist by Haley Bowcutt.
Coenen and Leah Digiandomenico scored two goals apiece for the Eagles.
