CMU's Amadio Earns Weekly MAC Award

Chippewa goalkeeper named top defensive player
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Lily Amadio was named the Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
Amadio, a senior, made her final home appearance in a Chippewa uniform a memorable one as she made four saves in a 1-0 shutout victory of Ball State. It was CMU's first MAC victory of the season.
Amadio faced 11 shots, six of which were on goal. She blanked the Cardinals over 70 minutes, including several highlight-reel saves in the second half. Amadio ranks second in the league with 101 saves this season.
The Chippewas head to the MAC Tournament in Oxford, Ohio where they will play a to-be-determined opponent in their tourney opener on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
