Field Hockey Welcomes Seven Signees

Three players are listed as midfielders, one is a defender and three could play multiple positions.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan field hockey head coach Catherine Ostoich will welcome seven signees comprising the Class of 2019.
"I am extremely excited to welcome these seven athletes to our team next fall," said Ostoich. "Their knowledge and passion for the game, mixed with their desire to win, is exactly what we need to take this program to the next level. They bring energy, passion and a variety of skills and experiences which will help elevate our current standard and I look forward to them making an immediate impact on our team, our community and all aspects of Central Michigan University."
The group, which includes student-athletes from four different states and one foreign player, consists of Lauren Buffington of Hartland, Wis., Emily Maloney of Saline, BobbiMarie Parker of Escondido, Calif., Rachel Ruttenberg of Ann Arbor, Megan Stockreef of Novi, Madi Tucker of Chesapeake, Va. and Alice O'Hagan, who is from England.
Three are listed as midfielders, one is a defender and three could play multiple positions. Â
All are in the midst of their respective senior year of high school and will join the CMU program for the 2019 season.
Lauren Buffington • Midfielder • Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS
Four-year letterwinner … first team all-state offense in 2017 … first team all-state defense in 2016 … all-state honorable mention in 2015 … state runner-up in 2016 and 2018 … state champion in 2015 … honored on National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad Scholar of Distinction in 2017 … two-year letterwinner in track & field.

Emily Maloney • Forward/Midfielder • Saline, Mich./Saline HS
Three-year letterwinner … totaled 14 career goals and 10 assists … named Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Division 1 All-State Honorable Mention in 2018 … Division 1 State Champion Runner-Up 2018 … member of National Honor Society … MHSFHA Division 1 All-State Academic 2018 … Saline High School Scholar-Athlete … two-year letterwinner in lacrosse.

Alice O'Hagan • Midfielder • West Clandon, Surrey, England/Reed's School
Played for the Guildford Hockey Club from 2013-present ... led GHC to a league title and secured promotion in 2017-18 ... served as Reed's School team captain in 2018 and was a two-time team captain for Prior's Field School ... trained at England's Junior Regional Performance Centre in 2016-17 ... earned Surrey County hockey honors in 2016.

"Alice is an aggressive player with excellent knowledge of the game. She reads the field well and knows how to set her teammates up for success. Her determination and athleticism will challenge our team to higher standards next fall."
BobbiMarie Parker • Midfielder/Forward • Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS
Three-year letterwinner … voted team captain in 2018 … earned team MVP honors in 2017 and 2018 … currently has 40 career goals and 56 assists (season ongoing) … earned coach's choice award in 2016 and 2018 … recognized in "tournament top twenty" in 2016, 2017, and 2018 … recognized as "Top Recruit" by San Diego Prep Insider … one-year letterwinner in soccer.

"Bobbi's attacking mindset and ability to score are reasons why she is so threatening on the forward line. She has great fundamentals and reads the game well. Her athleticism and hardworking attitude will impact our team immensely next fall."
Rachel Ruttenberg • Defender/Midfielder • Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS
Three-year letterwinner … elected 2018 team captain … named 2017 Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Divison 1 Second Team All-State … selected for 2017 Michigan SEC Leadership Conference … member of the 2016 Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Division 1 State Championship Team … played club field hockey for Pinnacle for seven years.

Four-year letterwinner … two-year team captain … named Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Second Team All-State in 2016 … named all-state honorable mention in 2017 … Division 2 state shampion in 2016 … Division 2 state runner-up in 2015 … honored as Detroit Country Day School scholar-athlete … one-year letterwinner in lacrosse … two-year letterwinner in track & field.

Four-year letterwinner … named Second Team All-Monitor Merrimack Conference 2015-2016 … named First Team All-Monitor Merrimack Conference 2016-2017 … earned female athlete of the year 2016-2017 at OSHS … named Second Team South Eastern District 2017-2018 … named to Second Team Eastern Region 2017-2018 … one-year letterwinner in tennis, soccer and wrestling.

"Madi is an extremely hardworking athlete who always gives her all whether it be on the field or in the classroom. She is quick to recover on defense and looks to make her teammates better. Her determination and grit will really challenge our team next fall."
