Underwood Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Erika Underwood was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for softball.

Underwood, a junior first baseman from Pittsford, hit .571 (8 for 14) with two doubles and her team-leading fourth home run in leading CMU to a 3-1 finish last weekend at the Liberty Softball Challenge in Lynchburg, Va.

Underwood finished the weekend with a .929 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage.

Underwood ranks second on the Chippewa in hiiting (.440) and leads in RBI (11) and total bases (25).

CMU (4-4) returns to the diamond on March 2 when it opens the South Florida Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, Fla.
