Softball Snaps Three-Game Losing Streak

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Central Michigan softball team used a four-run sixth inning in surging to a 6-2 victory over the College of Charleston on Sunday in the South Florida Under Armour Invitational at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak.
CMU (6-7) will take a break from the Under Armour Invitational to partake in the Citrus 2 Tournament. The Chippewas are scheduled to play Binghamton on Tuesday (1:30 p.m.) and then take on South Dakota State on Wednesday (11 a.m.).
Maison Kalina and Morgan Gardner each had a two-run single during the Chippewas' four-run sixth.
Laura Vaccaro (1-0) earned the win in relief of Taylor Weaver. Vaccaro allowed just one hit, struck out one and walked one over three innings. Weaver went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits.
Central Michigan outhit the College of Charleston, 12-6. Allison Curtis had three hits including a triple for the Chippewas, while Sara Hansen and Lacy Tolfree had two hits each.
