MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan softball team swept its second consecutive Mid-American Conference series with two wins over Buffalo on Sunday during a doubleheader at Margo Jonker Stadium.

Central Michigan is scheduled to play a league doubleheader with Western Michigan at Margo Jonker Stadium on Wednesday (1 p.m.). Buffalo is 13-20, 5-6.
The Chippewas outscored the Bulls, 30-8, in the series.

Hanna Warren (5-5) recorded eight strikeouts in earning the win. She allowed three hits and the Chippewas played error-free defense behind her. Samantha Howell went the final two innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits.
Rachel Vieira's RBI single sparked a three-run second inning as the Chippewas seized the early lead
Sara Hansen and Morgan Gardner each had two hits to lead CMU.

GAME 2

CMU COACH Margo Jonker
"I think maybe we should play in cold weather all the time and keep it in 30 degrees because obviously we play pretty well in that weather. The bats were impressive today. They did a great job hitting all the way through the line-up."
"Overall, the confidence is up. Now we need to make sure we stay focused and on task and stay one pitch at a time. It was a great weekend for us."
"It's a matter of not doing too much, but just doing your job. I think the team is doing a really good job of what we call Chippewa softball right now. So hitting comes along, since hitting is contagious. Let's hope we keep that hitting along."
