MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Four members of the Central Michigan golf team have been named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
CMU's Natalie Johnson, Kristen Wolfe, Danielle Sawyer and Jami Laude join more than 1,000 women who play intercollegiate golf across the nation on the honor squad. To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
It marks the third consecutive year that Johnson and Wolfe have earned the distinction, and the second consecutive year for Sawyer.
Johnson and Wolfe both graduated in May, Johnson with a degree in biomedical sciences, and Wolfe with a degree in information systems. Johnson hails from Nashville, Ill.; Wolfe from Grand Blanc.
Sawyer, a junior-to-be from Grafton, Ont., is a double major - psychology and neuroscience -- and carries a 3.78 grade point average. Laude, a sophomore-to-be from Ann Arbor, carries a 3.92 GPA and is undecided on a major.
