Track & Field Teams, Student-Athletes Garner Academic Awards

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Four Central Michigan track and field student-athletes were named All-Academic on Thursday by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association.

CMU's Gabriella Beauvais, Marissa Dunn, Shane Moffo and Logan Targgart were honored by the organizing body. Both the Chippewa men's and women's teams were named All-Academic for their cumulative grade point averages.

To be eligible for the individual honor, a student-athlete must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher, and have been ranked among the top 96 – either indoors or outdoors – during the 2017-18 season.

Beauvais is a sophomore jumper/sprinter and an integrative public relations major who carries a 3.29 GPA; Dunn carries a 3.88 GPA and is a redshirt freshman undecided on a major; Moffo is a junior hurdler majoring in finance with a 3.30 GPA; and Targgart is a sophomore with a 3.80 GPA majoring in personal financial planning.

The Chippewa women closed the 2017-18 academic year with a 3.43 cumulative GPA, while the men posted a cumulative 3.16.
