PHILADELPHIA – The Central Michigan field hockey team was outshot 14-3 on Sunday in dropping a 3-0 nonconference game at La Salle.
The Chippewas (1-2) and Exploers (2-0) play again on Monday (11 a.m.).
"It was a frustrating game for the team," CMU coach Catherine Ostoich said. "At the end of the day we did not make adjustments and we did not follow the game plan.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Chippewas fell in an early hole, allowing goals at the 9:13 and the 21:21 marks. La Salle added an insurance goal midway through the second half.
"We called a timeout in the middle of the first half because they were breaking our press," Ostoich said. "We talked about it at halftime, but we were just never able to make those changes."
GOALKEEPING
Lilly Amadio had seven saves in goal for the Chippewas. CMU was outshot 14-3, which included an 11-2 shots-on-goal disadvantage.
Â
REMATCH ADJUSTMENTS
"The biggest adjustment will be our effort," Ostoich said in regard to playing the Explorers on Monday. "I did not see the team that came to play last weekend play (on Sunday). We're going to talk about that tonight, show it through video and really make sure we're playing for each other tomorrow."
