Chippewa Field Hockey Coach Makes Home Debut

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team plays its first home game on its brand new turf on Thursday (3 p.m.) when it entertain Pacific at the CMU Field Hockey Complex.

HOME DEBUT
Not only is it the Chippewas' 2018 home debut, it is also the first home game for first-year CMU coach Catherine Ostoich, who took over the program in January.

RECORDS
The Chippewas are 1-3; Pacific is 2-2. CMU is coming off a two-game trip to Philadelphia where it dropped both games to the Explorers. Pacific is playing its second consecutive game against a Mid-American Conference foe. The Tigers lost, 3-0, to Miami (Ohio) last Thursday.

COVERING NEW GROUND
Not only is it the first home game of 2018 and the first at home for Ostoich, the Chippewas will be playing on a brand new AstroTurf which was recently installed.

"We are very excited to finally have new turf and to play in weather that we're used to," Ostoich said.
