Pedrick Named MAC Gymnast Of The Week

Junior rewarded for performance in leading CMU to season-opening quad win
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Denelle Pedrick has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.
Pedrick, a junior from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, won the balance beam and the floor exercise in leading the Chippewas to victory in their season-opening quad on Sunday at McGuirk Arena.
Pedrick posted a 9.850 score on the floor in the final rotation, leading the Chippewas to a score of 49.125 in the event and a 194.875 team total.
CMU, which is ranked 30th, bettered No. 22 Illinois and No. 33 Arizona in winning the quad, which included Division II power Bridgeport.
Pedrick, a two-time NCAA Championships qualifier, won the beam with a 9.850 score and placed fifth on bars (9.775). She finished second in the all around.
