Bussell Earns Weekly MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Kyra Bussell has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for women's basketball.
Bussell, a junior forward from Grand Rapids, averaged 19 points and seven rebounds in leading the Chippewas to nonconference over victories Northeastern and Marist.
In a 79-63 win over Northeastern, Bussell scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. In the Chippewas' 77-54 victory over Marist, Bussell scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards.
Bussell is second on the team and ranks sixth in the MAC in scoring at 16.5 points per game. She leads CMU and ranks fifth in the MAC in field goal percentage at .513.
The Chippewas play host to Iona on Thursday, Dec. 5.
