Pimpleton Named To Hornung Award Honor Roll

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Kalil Pimpleton was named the weekly Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for his performance last week in the Chippewas' 24-23 loss at Toledo.
Pimpleton, a junior from Muskegon, touched the ball four different ways. He completed three of his five pass attempts for 64 yards and a touchdown; he caught three passes for 36 yards; he carried the ball twice; and he handled five punts for 16 yards. His TD pass, an 18-yarder to Kobe Lewis, was the first of his career.
It marks the second time this season that Pimpleton has bee named to the honor roll. He was also honored for his performance in the Chippewas' 52-44 loss to Western Michigan.
The Hornung Award goes annually to the most versatile player in major college football and is administered by the Louisville Sports Commission. Among previous winners are Saquon Barkley (2017) of Penn State, Jabrill Pepers (2016) of Michigan, Christian McCaffrey (2015) of Stanford and Odell Beckham Jr. (2013) of LSU.
Pimpleton was named to the award watch list prior to the season.
