Central Michigan sets new APR Highs

The department’s single-year mark of 989 is the best in school history.
Central Michigan Athletics single-year mark of 989 in the NCAA's recently released Academic Progress Rate Institutional Report is the highest in CMU history.
"This report shows the commitment our programs have to recruiting great student-athletes and making sure they have an outstanding experience through graduation," said Michael Alford, Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics. "I also want to thank our student-athlete services staff for all their hard work helping our student-athletes. The goal truly is that when student-athletes leave here they have a diploma in one hard and a championship ring on the other."
Some of the highlights from Central Michigan's APR report include:

Some of the highlights from Central Michigan's APR report include:
- Sixteen of CMU's 18 programs had a multi-year APR of 980 or better. Eight of the programs had a mark of 990 or better.
- Nine teams had a single-year APR of 1,000 – baseball, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, men's indoor and outdoor track & field, softball, women's cross country and wrestling.
- All female program had a multi-year and a single-year APR above a 980.
- Based on their most recent multi-year APR, the golf and men's cross country and golf programs have earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for posting scores in the top 10 percent of their sport. Both programs posted a multi-year APR of 1000, the highest mark possible.
