Allendesalazar Named Co-MAC Golfer Of The Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Casilda Allendesalazar has been named the Mid-American Conference co-Women's Golfer of the Week after her victory in the Rocket Classic on Tuesday.
Allendesalazar, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, shot 74-72-76 to finish at 6-over 222 at Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio. She finished three shots ahead of the tournament runner-up.
It was Allendesalazar's second win of the season and her fourth top-10 finish in four tournaments. She led CMU to its third tournament title in four events this fall as the young program continued its ascension in posting its sixth victory in the 18 events in which it has played since the start of the 2019-20 season.
Allendesalazar's second-round 72 matched her career best and her 222 total ranks as the sixth-best 54-hole total in program history. She shared the weekly award with Emily Price of Kent State, who shot a 10-under 206 to win the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club just outside Chicago.
It is the second time this season that Allendesalazar has earned the weekly award. She shared it with teammate Padgett Chitty when they tied for first at the Sept. 26-27 Oakland Golden Grizzlies Invitational.
CMU wraps up the fall portion of its season Oct. 25-26 at the Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, in Spartanburg, S.C.
