MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Marshall Meeder was named the Stars of the Week for Week 7 of the college football season by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Lou Groza Award for his performance in Saturday's 26-23 victory over Toledo at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
Meeder hit four field goals including the game winner from 38 yards in overtime as CMU improved to 4-3, 2-1 MAC with the dramatic victory.
Meeder, a freshman from Eaton Rapids, also connected from 46, 51 and 44 yards in becoming the first Chippewa since David Harman in 2012 to make four field goals in a game. Meeder has made his last seven field goal tries and is 11 for 16 for the season.
Each week the commission selects three stars. The Lou Groza Award goes annually to the top kicker in college football. Meeder was named to the preseason watch list for the award.
