Lacrosse Hits The Road For 2 In Ohio

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan lacrosse team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Mid-American Conference games as the Chippewas look to bounce back from their first league loss of the season.
The Chippewas are scheduled to play at Kent State on Thursday (4 p.m.) and then at Akron on Saturday (1 p.m.).
CMU is 4-5, 2-1 MAC after dropping a 12-7 league decision at home to Robert Morris last weekend. The Chippewas are tied with Kent State (2-1, 3-5) for second place in the league. Akron is 4-4, 1-2.
The Chippewas rank second in the MAC with 10.78 goals per game and second with a .388 shot percentage. Kent State is first in the league with a .412 shot percentage and is fourth in goals per game (10.25).
CMU senior Natalie Karlen leads the MAC with 2.89 goals per game, while teammate Tyra Prince (2.00) ranks seventh. Karlen enters the conference contest needing six points to become the first player in program history to reach 200 for her career.
Akron's Alexis Kiefer is second in the league with 2.88 goals per game, and Kent State's Madison Rapier is fourth (2.75).
Chippewa goalie Sierra Savage is fourth in the league with a 10.60 goals against average. Akron's Ashley Lapp (7.90) leads the league, while Kent State's Taylor Monturo (13.24) is fifth.
