Soccer Looks To Stay In The Hunt Of MAC Race

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan soccer team looks to bounce back and remain in the hunt for the Mid-American Conference championship when it entertains two league rivals this weekend.
CMU is set to play host to Eastern Michigan on Thursday (3 p.m.) and to Toledo on Sunday (1 p.m.). Both games are at the CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
The Chippewas and Eagles are both 4-2, tied for second place in the MAC West behind Ball State, which is 4-1-1. Toledo is 1-4-1 after posting its first win of the season last weekend at Northern Illinois, 2-0.
The Chippewas dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at Ball State last weekend. That loss ended CMU's win streak at four games.
Eastern defeated Western Michigan 2-1, at home last weekend. The Eagles won the first meeting with the Chippewas, 2-1. The Chippewas won at Toledo, 2-1, on March 12.
The Chippewas will have just two regular-season games remaining after this weekend. They are scheduled to go to Western Michigan on Thursday, April 8, and then are slated to play host to Northern Illinois on Sunday, April 11.
