MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team welcomes Kent State this weekend for a four-game Mid-American Conference series at Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium.
The Chippewas took three of four at home last weekend from Bowling Green and enter the Kent State series 17-10, 9-3 MAC, one game behind first-place Ball State. The Golden Flashes dropped three of four last weekend at home to Toledo and are 13-14, 6-6.
CMU dropped a nonleague game at No.10-ranked Notre Dame on Tuesday, 8-4.
The series features the MAC's top two hitting teams as Kent State is first in the conference with a .284 team batting average and the Chippewas (.272) are second. On-base percentage (.421), walks (181), hit batsmen (53) and runs (202) are among the categories that CMU leads in the MAC.
