Field Hockey Set For Home Finale On Tuesday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team is set to play its final home game of the season on Tuesday (1 p.m.) when it entertains Longwood in a Mid-American Conference game at Cristy Freese Field.
The Chippewas are 5-4, 3-3 MAC. Longwood is 5-5, 3-5. The Chippewas split two games last weekend at home with Ball State. Longwood is coming off an 8-1 nonleague win over Bellarmine.
CMU's five victories are the most for the program in a single season since 2014, when the Chippewas finished 7-12 and shared the MAC regular-season title at 5-1.
Kate Biglin leads the Chippewas with four goals and shares the team lead with eight points with Alice O'Hagan. CMU goalie Katie Maxim ranks second in the league with 54 saves.
The Chippewas are scheduled to close the season with two games at Kent State, the first is on Friday, April 23 (5 p.m.) and the finale is set for Saturday, April 24 (5 p.m.).
