Kauflin Leads Golfers At MAC Championships

SILVER LAKE, Ohio – Rachel Kauflin shot 77-80—157 on Friday to lead the Central Michigan golf team on day 1 of the Mid-American Conference Championships at Silver Lake Country Club.
The Chippewas, missing several of their top players, shot 330-346—676 in the first two rounds and are in 10th place. The third and final round is scheduled for Saturday (8:30 a.m.).
Kauflin, a freshman, is among a group tied for 16th in the 49-player field.
Also for CMU, freshman Ashley Goh shot 82-78—160, senior Meghan Deardorff shot 82-85—167, and junior Julia Bice shot 89-103—192.
Goh is in 25th place and Deardorff is among a group tied for 40th. Goh made 23 pars in her 36 holes, tying for fourth in the field in that category. Kauflin made 21, tying for 10th.
