Soccer Heads To Kalamazoo On Thursday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan soccer team heads to Kalamazoo on Thursday to take on Western Michigan in a Mid-American Conference game.
Kickoff at the WMU Soccer Complex is set for 4 p.m.
The Chippewas are 4-3-0 and looking to break a two-game losing streak after a 2-1 overtime loss at Ball State and a 1-0 home loss to Eastern Michigan. The Chippewas' game with Toledo, scheduled for Sunday, was postponed.
Ball State outshot the Chippewas, 10-9, marking the first time this season CMU has finished a game on the minus side. The Chippewas outshot Eastern Michigan, 20-9, and have posted a combined 102-55 shots advantage over their opponents this season.
Natalie Belsito leads the Chippewas with three goals and eight points, while Amanda Britain and Samantha Kaye-Toral have scored two goals apiece.
Western Michigan is 4-2-2 and has won its last two games, both at home. They defeated Northern Illinois, 2-1, a week ago, and topped Ball State, 2-0, last Sunday. CMU won the first meeting with Western, 2-0, in Mount Pleasant on March 18.
Suzuna Shibukawa and Bailey Korhorn lead the Broncos in scoring with three goals apiece. The Broncos' Morgan Otteson was named the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week after assisting on all four of Western's goals in its wins over NIU and Ball State.
