Maxim Earns MAC Honor

The sophomore goalkeeper was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich - Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Maxim was named the Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Maxim posted her first shutout of the season to lead CMU to a 1-0 victory over No. 23 Kent State. She made nine saves in the win. This is the first weekly conference recognition for Maxim and the first for a CMU field hockey player this season.

CMU Field Hockey (2-6, 1-1 MAC) travel east this weekend for a conference match at Longwood on Friday, Oct. 1, at Noon. The Chippewas also play at Saint Francis this weekend with a match on Sunday at 1 p.m.
