Lacrosse Falls At Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- The Central Michigan lacrosse team dropped a 12-11 nonconference decision to Cincinnati on Friday at the Bearcats' Nippert Stadium.
Cincinnati (3-6) outshot the Chippewas, 39-29, while outscoring them in the first three quarters. CMU went on a late run, outscoring Cincinnati, 4-2 in the fourth quarter, but ultimately fell one goal short.
Maggie Diebold led the Chippewas with four goals. Kelly Hoyt scored two.
Erin Owens and Alexa Martel shared time in goal for Central Michigan. Owens made eight saves and allowed 11 goals, while Martel had three saves and surrendered one goal.
Central Michigan returns home on Wednesday, March 23 (2 p.m.) to entertain Akron in a Mid-American Conference game at the CMU Lacrosse Complex. CMU will then travel to Marquette Sunday, March 27 (1 p.m.), for a nonconference matchup.
