Stein Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Shannon Stein was named the Mid-American Conference co-Player of the Week after helping lead the Chippewas to a 3-2 record over the weekend at the Spring Games at Madeira Beach, Fla.
Stein, a senior first baseman from Las Cruces, N.M., hit .421 with three home runs and seven RBI in the five games.
She hit a two-run homer in the first inning to spark the Chippewas to a 4-1 win over Nebraska at Omaha and her fifth-inning two-run homer iced CMU's 5-1 win over Georgetown.
Stein finished the weekend with eight hits, five of them for extra bases.
