Women's Golf Holds One-Shot Leading Heading Into Final Round

KEWADIN, Mich. – Two-thirds of the way there. And a final 18 holes that promise an exciting finish.

The Central Michigan women's golf team shot 296-300 – 596 on Sunday and holds a one-shot lead heading into the third and final round of its A-Ga-Ming Invitational at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort.

The defending-champion Chippewas lead second-place Oakland by one shot. Western Michigan is third in the seven-team field at 604.

CMU sophomore Casilda Allendesalazar shot 73-73 -- 146 and is tied for second place with Oakland's Bridget Boczar for second place. Alyssa DiMarcantonio of Eastern Michigan shot an even-par 71-73 – 144 and leads by two shots.

CMU's Ashley Goh is tied for eighth after shooting 75-75 – 150, and three Chippewas – Padgett Chitty, Mackenzie Baustad and Rachel Kauflin -- are tied for 12^th at 151. CMU's Claudia Salvador is tied for 25^th at 156.

Kauflin is playing as an individual, as are Zoe Vartyan and Ashley Liles. Vartyan is tied for 30^th at 159 and Liles is tied for 41^st 168. The field comprises 50 players.
