Allendesalazar Named MAC Women's Golfer of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. --Â Central Michigan's Casilda Allendesalazar was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday.
Allendesalazar, a sophomore from Spain, shot an even-par 216 to share medalist honors at the 11-team Huntsville.org Intercollegiate on the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove on Owens Cross Roads, Ala.
Allendesalazar opened with a 2-over par 74 and then shot a 3-under 69 in the second round and closed with a 1-under 71. Her 216 total tied her career best 54-hole total, and her second-round 69 was one stroke shy of her program 18-hole record.
It was Allendesalazar CMU-record fourth career victory and her second of the 2022-23 season and comes one week after she tied for first at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
Allendesalazar has shot par or better in six of her nine spring rounds and is averaging 71.88 in the Chippewas' three spring events.
It marks the third time, and the first in the 2022-23 season, that Allendesalazar has earned the weekly award.
