Track & Field Posts 3 Top-10 Finishes at Azusa Pacific

AZUSA, Calif. -- Central Michigan track & field student-athletes earned three top-eight finishes at the highly competitive Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific.

CMU's Hayley Manners took third place in the long jump with a distance of 6.24 meters (20 feet, 5 ¾ inches); the Chippewas' Angelina Horn placed seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 12.23 meters (40-1 ½); and CMU's 4x400-meter relay team of Reghan Draper, Angelina Horn, Manners, and Peyton Korytkowski placed seventh with a time of 46:48.

Other top performances for CMU came from Olivia Hankey, who was ninth in the high jump; from Tricia Pierce, who was 12th in the pole vault; and from Sarah Daniel, who was 12th in the long jump.

The Chippewas also got 17th-place finishes from Emily McLean (shot put), Mohogany Wells (hammer throw) and Aliyah Boeve (discus).

CMU's Peyton Korytkowski, Annie Laurenz, Emma Francis and Emma Fountain teamed up to place 18th in the 4x400-meter relay.

The Chippewas also got personal bests from two athletes:Â Emily Paupore in the steeplechase (12:26.45) and Jelena Prescott in the 5000-meter run (17:05.44).
Â
It was just the second time that Paupore, the reigning Mid-American Conference female track athlete of the week, has run the steeplechase.

The Chippewas will compete at the Al Owens Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 21-22 at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.Â
