Softball Falls in Series Finale at Miami (Ohio)

OXFORD, Ohio – The Central Michigan Chippewas fell in the final game of the series to the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks; 2-7. The Chippewas fall to 27-22 over all and 17-9 in the MAC.
The two runs scored by the Chippewas came in the form of homeruns. Michaleigh Vallimont took one long in the first inning, the second batter of the game. Allyssa Hollo sent her own out of the park in the 6th inning.
Miami (Ohio) sent three balls out of the park for four of their seven runs in the game.
Grace Lehto took all seven innings in the game for CMU, giving up 10 hits, striking out five and walking only one. Lehto's record moves to 13-12 on the season.
The Chippewas will head to South Bend, Indiana where they will face Notre Dame, on Tuesday May 2nd for a 5 p.m. game. The Mid-American conference regular season will close at home for Central Michigan on Saturday and Sunday, May 5th & 6th as the Chippewas host the Akron Zips.
