Five Chippewas Earn All-MAC Baseball Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Five Central Michigan baseball players have earned a total of six individual honors from the Mid-American Conference for the 2023 season.
Pitcher Adam Mrakitsch and second baseman Luke Sefcik were both named to the All-MAC First Team; third baseman Christian Mitchelle and pitcher Keegan Batka were named to the second team; and Mrakitsch and outfielder Jacob Donahue were named to the all-defensive team.
The Chippewas, who finished in second place, open MAC Tournament play at regular season champion Kent State on Wednesday (6 p.m.) against Ball State.
Mrakitsch, a sophomore left-hander, is 8-4 with a 3.40 earned run average.
Sefcik, a freshman, leads the Chippewas in hitting with a .315 batting average.
Mitchelle, a freshman, is third on the team with a .298 average and leads the team with 13 doubles.
Batka, a junior right-hander, is 7-3 with a 3.84 ERA.
Donahue, a center fielder, has accumulated a 1.000 fielding percentage on 111 chances this season.
