Volleyball Drops First Game of Road Trip to Ohio

TOLEDO, Ohio – Central Michigan dropped their first road MAC contest when they traveled to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Toledo Rockets. Central Michigan falls to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in MAC play.
The first set opened as the match was expected: a long, drawn out, battle. CMU ultimately dropped the opening set 31-33 to Toledo. In that set, Natalia Rejment tallied six kills and six digs. Hannah Langton totaled six digs as well and 18 assists for Allie Korba.
Set two was much of the same as Toledo jumped out to 6-3 lead and in the end put together a few runs to take the second set, advancing their lead to 2-0 over the Chippewas. CMU dropped that set 17-25.
In the third set, CMU was not ready to get swept for the first time in the 2024 season. The Chippewas posted a 25-23 victory over Toledo in the third set hitting .314 as a team as Krystina Kasson found her groove with six kills for CMU. Lauren Schrock also killed five balls for CMU, hitting .833 in the third set victory for the Chippewas.
Toledo grabbed their third set win to take the match in the fourth set as CMU fell 12-25 to the Rockets.
Total in the Thursday night match, Natalia Rejment, Lauren Schrock and Krystina Kasson killed double-digit balls with 12, 15 and 13, respectively. Rejment led the team with 21 balls and Hannah Langton dug 19. Abby Olin posted a solo block while Allie Korba and Grace Thomas posted two block assists each.
The Chippewas will stay in Ohio to take on MAC leading Bowling Green at 6 p.m. on Friday evening.
