Baseball Opens 2025 Season at Houston Christian

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team is scheduled to open the 2025 season in Houston with a four-game series beginning on Feb. 14 against Houston Christian.
The Chippewas' 56-game scheduled was released today.
"The release of the schedule always brings out some excitement within your program as we start the countdown to Opening Day," second-year CMU coach Jake Sabol said. "We have some high quality opponents that make up our nonconference slate and we are looking forward to competing with this new group."
CMU is slated to play 17 games before it opens Mid-American Conference play with a three-game series at Ohio March 14-16. The Chippewas will visit San Francisco, Western Kentucky, Liberty and Marshall before opening MAC play.
"We are aware that playing the first 20 games on the road always presents challenges, but it also creates a tremendous opportunity for our guys to grow together as we start this new journey together," Sabol said.
The Chippewas' are scheduled to entertain Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Ball State and Eastern Michigan in three-game MAC series. They are slated to visit Northern Illinois, Akron, Western Michigan and Toledo in addition to Ohio in league series.
Bowling Green is the defending MAC regular season champion; Western Michigan the defending tournament champion.
CMU is also scheduled to entertain instate foes Cleary, Grace Christian, Davenport and Oakland for midweek nonconference games, and are likewise slated to visit Purdue Fort Wayne, Michigan State, Oakland, Ohio State and Michigan.
The Chippewas' home opener is slated for March 19 against Cleary on Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. Their MAC home-opening weekend is March 28-30 against Bowling.
The Chippewas are scheduled to face opponents representing nine conferences: MAC, Southland, West Coast, Conference USA, Sun Belt, GLIAC, Horizon, Big Ten, and Wolverine Hoosier.
The MAC Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 21 at Mercy Health Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
