Field Hockey's Camryn, Ryon Earn Postseason Honors

Mallory Camryn named First Team All-MAC; Carolena Ryon named to All-Freshman Squad
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Two Central Michigan Field Hockey players, Mallory Camryn and Carolena Ryon have earned postseason honors, the Mid-American Conference announced on Tuesday.
Camryn, a junior forward, was named First Team All-MAC alongside 11 other field hockey student-athletes within the league. The Fort Kent, Maine native joined the Chippewas ahead of the 2024 season as a transfer from Maine.
Prior to this season, CMU had not had representation on the First-Team All-MAC squad since 2021.
In her first season at CMU, Camryn started all 17 games and led CMU with 10 goals on the season, which ranked her 3rd in the league in the statistic. She scored two goals in CMU's 4-1 season-opening win over Saint Louis and another two against MAC-leading James Madison on Sept. 27.
Camryn made four assists on the year and is tied for second in the league with 24 points, with a third-best average of 1.41 points per game. She is ranked 2nd in shots with 60 (averaging 3.53 per game) and 3rd in shots on goal with 37, maintaining .617 shots on goal percentage for the year.
Ryon, also a forward, was named to the All-Freshman squad. The Factoryville, Pa. native saw action in 16 of 18 games, starting seven. She scored her first career goal on Oct. 4 against Bellarmine and tallied an assist in the Chippewas' overtime win against Hofstra. The freshman maintained a .529 shots-on-goal percentage through the season, with 9 of 17 shots on target.
