Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

The Chippewas will open their 2025 season at Troy and will compete in four preseason tournaments before opening MAC play on March 14.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The 2025 schedule for the softball team was released Wednesday afternoon. The schedule includes four preseason tournaments and competitions against in state opponents Michigan State, Detroit Mercy and Michigan.
Central Michigan softball will start their 6th season under the direction of McCall Salmon when they open against North Texas on February 7th. The Chippewas will play North Texas, Troy, Samford and Tennessee State in Troy, Ala.
Following the Alabama trip, CMU will head to NC State to face Illinois, Northern Colorado and NC State between February 21st and 23rd.
At Louisville, February 28th-March 2nd, CMU will face Northwestern, Louisville and Longwood. Emma Lotus will have a rematch with her older sister Easton Lotus who is an infielder for the Louisville Cardinals.
The Chippewas will then close out the preseason schedule in Florida where they will be participating the Make it Happen Games hosted in Mideria Beach. The tournament will be held between March 7th and March 10th. Closing out the Florida trip will be a solo game at South Florida on March 11th.
To open MAC play, CMU will head to DeKalb, Ill. facing NIU. Road MAC trips for CMU include the NIU trip, Buffalo, Miami (OH), Toledo and Ball State. The Chippewas will host Akron, Western Michigan, Kent State, Bowling Green and Ohio for their home conference games.
Throughout the season for non-conference competitions, CMU will head to East Lansing on March 26th to take on Michigan State and to the University of Michigan on April 9th to take on the Wolverines, the alma mater of pitching coach Sara Driesenga. On April 22nd, the Chippewas will head to South Bend, Ind. to face Notre Dame.
