CMU Athletics Holds Mock Interview Program

Event’s goal was to prepare student-athletes for future job interviews; 32 student-athletes take part in the program.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Thirty-two Central Michigan senior and graduate student-athletes, along with 32 professionals were invited to campus to participate in a mock interview program with the ultimate goal of preparing student-athletes for job interviews coming in the future. The event took place Tuesday, March 19 in the Chippewa Champions Center.
From shaking an employer's hand to answering career driven questions, student-athletes were given the full experience of what an actual interview will look like. Each interview was approximately 20 minutes long where 15 minutes consisted of interviewing and then there was five-minute feedback sessions each time.
In total, each student-athlete interviewed three times. The attending professionals consisted of alumni, donors, local businesses, and more. A total of 96 interviews were conducted during the two-hour program.
CMU student-athletes attending the event included baseball's Jacob Brill, Sandy Cuthrell, Nicholas Dardas, Jake Donahue, Jack Eichler, Bryce Hellgeth, Marquis Jackson, Jonah Milchuck, Trey Miller, Robby Morgan, Ely Stuart, Benjamin Vitas, and Danny Wuestenfeld, women's cross country/track & field's Anna Laurenz, Maija Rettelle, & Anya Turner. Field Hockey: Hannah Havrilla, and Katie Maxim, men's golf's Arie Jackman, women's golf's Rachel Kauflin, lacrosse's Sandy Edwards, Makenna Hahn, and Madeline Kosir, soccer's Addie Brown, Jaelyn Dobrowolski, Allison LaPoint, Jenna Little, Claudia Muessig, and Libby Van Wagnen, and softball's Caitlyn Britton and Abbey Tolmie.

Last week we also hosted Mock Interview Night for all senior student-athletes. This was an opportunity to gain more interview experience before graduating.
