Cade Klimczak, Robi Stuart, and Marcus Young are 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society selections.
NEW YORK—Three Central Michigan seniors—offensive lineman Cade Klimczak, defensive lineman Robi Stuart, and tight end Marcus Young—were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, announced Wednesday morning by the NFF & College Hall of Fame. Additional information can be found at this link.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be either a senior player, who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2023; or a graduated player, who has been out of high school for at least (3) years; and must have: maintained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); and been starters or contributors throughout the 2023 season.
Klimczak, Stuart, and Young were three of a record-number of 1,988 football players from 339 schools that qualified for membership for the 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society group, setting a new record for the number of members in a single year during the program's 18-year history. The initiative has now honored 18,386 student-athletes since its inception.
2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football.
A 6-foot-1, 285 offensive lineman from Rockford, Mich., Klimczak is a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree. In his five-year, 26-game career, Klimczak made five starts on the offensive line, including two at left guard and one at right guard in 2023. He was a part of an offensive line that allowed just 26 sacks all season long in 2023. He drew his first starting assignment in the 2021 Sun Bowl vs. Washington State as a sophomore. Klimczak is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive tackle from Saginaw, Mich., Stuart is a two-time All-MAC selection and six-time Academic All-MAC honoree. In his six-year, 56-game and 39-start career, Stuart accumulated 113 total tackles (55 solo), 20.5 tackles for loss for 81 yards, 8.0 sacks for 50 yards, and one forced fumble. In 2023, he was a consensus preseason All-MAC selection and was nominated for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy, AFCA Good Works Team, and Wuerffel Trophy. He has served as team captain in multiple games, contributed 29 tackles as a senior, 32 tackles as a sophomore and 24 tackles as a freshman. He was named the MAC Medal of Excellence award recipient for Central Michigan in May 2023, an award that is presented to one male and one female student-athlete at each of the MAC's 12 schools that exhibit athletics excellence, leadership, and service. Stuart graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience in 2023 and then graduated in December with a master's degree in Neuroscience at Central Michigan.
Young, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end from Dexter, Mich., is a two-time Academic All-MAC selection and 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District pick. He saw action in 24 career games, including 24 consecutive contests, with six starts in three seasons. Young caught three career passes for 16 yards but was used primarily in blocking situations. Young graduated from Central Michigan in December with a bachelor's degree in Law & Economics.
