Baseball Drops Season Finale

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Western Michigan erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning on Saturday in handing Central Michigan a 10-0 baseball loss in the Chippewas' season finale on Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium.
The Broncos took two of three in the series. CMU finished 17-38, 8-22 Mid-American Conference under first-year coach Jake Sabol. The game was called after seven innings on the run rule.
Central Michigan pitching issued five walks and allowed five hits during the Broncos' five-run fourth.
The Chippewas collected five hits including a single and a double by Jacob Donahue in the game.
Keegan Batka (3-6) started for CMU and took the loss. He allowed six runs on two hits and six walks over 3 1/3 innings.
Evan Waters and Jared Hanson pitched in relief for the Chippewas.
