Thirteen Chippewas Earn Athlon Preseason All-MAC Honors

Offensive lineman Brayden Swartout and defensive back Donte Kent both earn preseason First Team All-MAC accolades from Athlon Magazine.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Led by First Team honorees in senior offensive lineman Brayden Swartout and senior defensive back Donte Kent, 13 Central Michigan football players were named to Athlon's preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team, the magazine announced in its publication.
In addition to Swartout and Kent, Second Team selections included senior wide receiver Jesse Prewitt III, junior wide receiver Tyson Davis, senior offensive lineman Dominic Serapiglia III, junior defensive lineman Jason Williams, and senior Marion Lukes, who earned Second Team honors as both a running back and kickoff returner.
Third Team accolades went to senior running back Myles Bailey, junior offensive lineman Davis Heinzen, senior linebacker Justin Whiteside, and senior defensive back Da'Raun McKinney.
Fourth Team members included junior defensive lineman Michael Heldman and junior defensive back Caleb Spann.
Central Michigan's 2024 football schedule was announced in March. Click here to access the updated schedule. Kickoff times and television designations for six CMU football games were announced on May 30. Central Michigan will open its 2024 season against Central Connecticut State on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The 2024 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day is scheduled for Friday, July 19 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. :Additional details will be available at a later date.
